This is Spitfire LA198 in its final stages of restoration. During visits to East Fortune we watched the long restoration process, as the last pilot to fly this plane was one of our members Jim Johnston, DFC, who although in poor health still lives in Glasgow. The restored Spitfire now has pride of place in the Kelvingrove Art Galley & Museum. This is also appropriate, as LA198 flew with No.602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron. See Library Ref. 166
